Strawman Argument
You used a strawman argument to defend the exploitation of animals.
Throwing up a weak, fabricated vegan position to then tear down in an attempt to win the argument. “Vegans say animals are sentient but cows can’t use computers so veganism is full of crap!” In this case sentience is clearly misconstrued to serve the purpose of justifying harm to animals. The level of sentience required to operate a computer is not the cutoff in which a being shouldn’t be tortured or killed. Destroying a strawman of your making does not invalidate your opponent’s argument.
